The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), established in 2023, is the authorised body to conduct the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026. This UPTET 2026 exam is a mandatory qualification for individuals seeking appointment as Assistant Teachers in Primary and Upper Primary schools across Uttar Pradesh. The selection process is based on a written entrance examination consisting of two papers: Paper I (Classes 1–5) and Paper II (Classes 6–8).
The UPTET 2026 exam mode is a pen-and-paper-based test featuring 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed in 150 minutes, with no negative marking. Candidates who wish to appear for both levels can do so via a single online application form, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
Regarding the maximum age limit, the notification specifies that the date of birth mentioned in the High School or equivalent certificate will be considered final.
